GENEROSITY!!!
Other area food drives include Joseph's Storehouse

Past History of ECCRC food programs:
The NEIGHBORHOOD SHARE FOOD
Before that- ECCRC sponsored food programs from the start. These included
Heartland Shares and other programs. ECCRC is open to sponsor program in
the community if this service request is made. Volunteers would need to
set this up for the local community. ECCRC is a member of the Wichita Food Bank
and continues to supply food items to the local communities.
Annual Thanksgiving Food Boxes
Each Thanksgiving, ECCRC offers food boxes to any family who needs them. This service is in its seventh year. Areas served include Cowley, Sumner, Elk, & Chataqua Counties. Nearly 90 boxes were distributed in 2006. There were about 15 volunteeers who helped put this program together for 2006 (one of our largest distributions). Proceeds from The Advocate went to help fund the food distribution. Area business sponsors also donate toward this project. UPDATE: The food drive is sponsored totally by donations. The amount of food boxes given out is set by the budget that is donated. In the past, one large donation of meat was made by an anonymous business.
